Our Story

Welcome to Ability to Access, a passionate non-profit organization committed to empowering individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) on their journey to meaningful employment. At Ability to Access, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to develop essential skills and gain valuable work experience regardless of disability.

Food Truck

Our innovative approach centers around SnackAbility, a dynamic mobile food truck that serves as a platform for real-world job training. Operating within the vibrant landscape of the Denver Metropolitan area, SnackAbility is not just a food truck; it's a catalyst for transformation. Our team travels to High School and Transition Programs, specifically tailored to individuals with I/DD, providing hands-on training and fostering an inclusive environment.

The SnackAbility mobile food truck worksite training program is designed to equip individuals with I/DD with the skills necessary for success in the food service industry. Through practical experiences, personalized coaching, and a supportive learning environment, we aim to empower our participants to overcome barriers and achieve their fullest potential.

MerchAbility

From t-shirts to hats our staff can make merchandise for any business! Using our specialized design tools, we are able to train staff with I/DD to design and make merchandise. This allows our staff to embrace their creative side and provide our local community with quality merchandise to sell to their customers. The process of creating merchandise is a very structured and repetitive routine allowing individuals with disabilities to work at their own pace in a low sensory environment. This helps individuals who struggle in a high energy typical restaurant environment. With the use of visual supports our staff learn how to complete tasks as independently as possible. The goal of Merchabiliity is to help our staff learn transferable work skills that they can take to a variety of different jobs within their communities.
